Over the years, some people have tried to remove Christ from Christmas.
The abbreviation ‘Xmas’ was introduced instead of the full word. Originally, the x stands for the cross, but of late, it also seems to cross out Christ from Christmas.
Likewise, most Christmas movies on streaming platforms are feel-good films that either celebrate humanity or focus on the red-clad gift giver. Neither encouraging to live good humanist values or the good vibes feeling that results from these films is not bad, but a Christmas without Christ, this feeling is fleeting.
Jesus is the reason we celebrate Christmas. He said in John 10:10 that He came to give us life, and life in abundance.
The joy that comes from a Christ-centered Christmas celebration is not limited to Christmas season. If we draw near to Him, His presence in our lives can be accessible all year round and this brings fulness in many ways.
A blessed Christmas everyone!
